LGBT Boomers and Beyond began in 2008, as a project of the Area Agency on Aging, Region One and Duet, Partners in Health and Aging. Both agencies were aware of the need for outreach to folks over 40 (and those who love them) in the LGBT community. We formed a committee of agencies and community leaders to determine needs and see how they could be met. Boomers and Beyond is a coalition enhancing quality of life through resources, education and advocacy, so that Arizona LGBT Boomers and Beyond are aware, empowered and connected. We hold monthly planning meetings and present educational events periodically at One Voice Community Center.
